A wasted day

The weather pundits have been threatening snow for most of this week, but this morning it finally materialized. I got up at O-dark Thirty to work out and there was about an inch of snow on the ground. By the time I finished my ride, there was another couple of inches. I checked the news online and saw that schools were closed. I had a meeting this afternoon with The Big Cheese, but I called and left a message for him to call me at home. I went back to bed and waited for the kids to wake up, and by that time, we had about 6 inches of snow.

By that time I also had a raging migraine. I was looking forward to having some time at home to work on my Blended Quilt and another quilt project that I started cutting out over the weekend, but this dang headache prevented me from normal function today.

Another few inches of snow is expected overnight, so perhaps I will get a second chance at a day at home to catch up tomorrow.

Oh - and in addition to my challenge and anything else I might want to be working on, my guild solicited me to enter 2 more quilts in our show in March - for their "Then and Now" display - my first quilt and one of my recent quilts. I was happy to do it, but that means I have one more that I have to bind. Yikes! Not my favorite thing to do! I will have 4 quilts in the show, though, and that's pretty cool.

  1. How cool that you were asked to enter extra quilts. It has been a very long time since I put a quilt in a show. I was very surprised to see that snow this morning. I am actually hoping for another snow day although it will get hard to figure out how to make them up. Hope tomorrow is a better day.

  2. Glad to hear that you had a day at home but so sorry to hear that you suffer from migraines. My mom has suffered with those all her life. Exciting hearing about all the quilts in the quilt show. Do I see some blue ribbons coming. Hope you get to stay home tomorrow.

  3. So your day turned to the brown stuff, huh? That's a shame; migraines are not the best thing to have any day, especially when you have one you need desperately. Congratulations on the quilts you will have in the quilt show. I sure hope you feel better tomorrow. Take care! Sending healing hugs your way!

  6. I wondered how much snow you received up there - we didn't get so much here, and it's all gone now. I'm glad you didn't have to work yesterday, but I am sorry you had the migraine. How miserable that is, I know. Hopefully, you are feeling better today, and the weather is not so nasty today.

  8. Oh I hope you're feeling better today. Headaches are extremely uncool! Happy to read about all those quilts being entered/displayed. And just so you know...binding isn't my favorite thing either.

  9. Aren't those migraines just the worst? They are huge time wasters. How cool that you are having four quilts in your guild show! Our weather here has been so gloomy, rainy and chilly too. I had on three sweaters at one point yesterday.

  10. I think we are getting the same snow storm...we have well over a foot of snow and it's STILL snowing here.
I hope the migraine is better today. When I get these it can last for days. It's usually because I'm dehydrated and should be drinking more water.
