Carrie had an interesting blog post the other day about liking a quilt kit so much that she bought the same one twice. Now I confess - I have bought the same pattern and often the same piece of fabric twice, but never two of the same kit. Carrie must have really liked that quilt!
I went to a quilt expo with my friend last month and saw a sample of this beautiful Crabapple Hill design called Merry Little Christmas. Seeing the embroidered and pieced quilt in person was amazing - the photo on the pattern just does not do this design justice. I absolutely had to have the pattern!
When I got home and went to put my new pattern away, I discovered I liked that quilt so much, I bought the same pattern twice - doh! So how about a giveaway? You could start this in the new year and have it done in time to display next Christmas. Leave me a comment before 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21 and I will announce one lucky winner on Tuesday morning.
Edited to add: I would love to hear if any of you have ever followed in my footsteps - buying the same book, magazine or piece of fabric twice. :)
When I rearranged my stash, I found that I had purchased the same fabric 4 times. I still haven't used it yet, too pretty to cut! I tend to duplicate quilting magazines too. This pattern is adorable. Hope I win. Thanks for the giveaway, and hope you and yours have a great holiday season. Patty E
ReplyDeleteI've gotten double magazines before...I'll probably find the same 'problem' happen with patterns too...my memory isn't what it use to be..you'd think all the time I spent on crosswords and sudokus would have helped???? :) I would love a work through the year project. I find I give most everything away and have very little to show in my own home esp for holiday stuff...this can be the year to change that! Thanks for the opportunity to give this pattern a home...
ReplyDeleteI haven't bought duplicate patterns, but I can't even count the number of times I've bought two (or even three) copies of. My quilting friends always benefit from my extra purchases> I would love to win that pattern.

really like the pattern - glad you bought two! have a very merry christmas!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win that beautiful quilt for my first Christmas quilt project!! Have often bought duplicate groceries!!! Found an old shopping list and just sailed right on through the store -- only to get home and find my fridge already full of what I had bought! Now I throw away my shopping lists!!
ReplyDeleteI reaad about Carrie's double purchase, and had to laugh. Yes a pattern, or fabric, but a whole kit!!! I really love your pattern. Thanks for the giveaway :-)
ReplyDeleteI've done it all - I've bought books/magazines twice, patterns twice, kits twice and even pieces of fabric twice. I've actually bought 2 different kits twice - the first one had different fabric in each kit so I didn't feel so weird about it. The second set of kits I just bought this year and they are the exact same fabric and purchased within a few months of each other. I just figure I'll make a bigger quilt with them. At least I hope it will work like that.
ReplyDeleteBut guess what? I don't have a copy of that Crabapple Hill pattern. I'm positive!
Thanks,
Susan

I would LOVE that pattern!! And yes, I've purchased the same kit twice. Unfortunately, a few times. Usually they are Primitive Gatherings kits. I must REALLY love them!
ReplyDeleteI bought a Thimbleberries book twice. I regifted!
ReplyDeleteI have done it too. There are some awesome patterns that I fall in love with ...over and over again it seems.
ReplyDeleteI've done that with fabric a number of times and each time they were FQ's. A couple of times, the same book was nearly purchased and after following my hunch, the book was put was on the shelf and when I got home the book was searched out and found. Whew ...
ReplyDeleteForm your picture, it's hard to see the quilt, but I have a number of their patterns and love each one of them. I've also bought both fabric and patterns twice but never a quilt kit.
ReplyDeleteDoing the repeat fabric is to easy to count but I have bought the same pattern too. Hey, at least you know you REALLY like the pattern!!
ReplyDeleteI have bought duplicate fabric, patterns, and magazines...once I bought a magazine that I subscribed too...mine hadn't arrived yet, so I thought maybe my subscription had run out and bought the magazine...next day it arrived in my mailbox!
ReplyDeleteI have bought duplicate fat quarters, crochet hooks, embroidery thread and also kits. My daughter really benefits from duplicate purchases. Yes I know the feeling so please enter me in the giveaway. Beautiful quilt.

I bought the same charm square packs twice & since I usually buy 5, I ended up with 10. Before I had started using them, I also bought a jelly roll of the same fabric line. I've donated duplicate purchases of quilting books to the library at least 3 times. I'd love to win the pattern.
ReplyDeleteYou've got to make that quilt, it's adorable and so you! Don't count me in the drawing, I know I would NEVER attempt to make that quilt! I don't get to shop enough to buy much once, let alone twice!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful. I can see why you bought it twice.
