Eventide Tuesday - getting there!

Week4 I'm sure I could have completed more of my Eventide quilt, but the mess in my sewing room has been nagging me.   The piles and random bits of fabric everywhere were really stifling my creativity.

So Friday after work, I set to work in my sewing room.  By Saturday afternoon, every bit of fabric was corralled and cataloged - a place for everything and everything in its place.   Ah... so much better for the flow of creative juices.

I have finished all but 7 of my Ohio Star blocks for Eventide.  I need to finish a birthday present for a friend this week and am working extra hours at the quilt store, so I may not make much progress, but I'm still hoping to finish in time for our April 5 reveal (my boys' birthday!).

Thanks for pulling us all together to work on this great quilt together, Thelma.   I am really enjoying watching everyone's quilt evolve and to see it in different fabric choices.

  2. Great Progress !! Your ohio star blocks are gorgeous ! I know what you mean about not being able to work in a messy sewing room. Ever since I finished Eventide I have been re organizing my sewing room ;-)

  3. I know what you mean when you talk about the mess cramping your creative spirit. I cannot work in a messy room. It completely distracts me from my task and I find myself making mistakes.
Your quilt is coming along wonderfully. Those stars look yummy!

  4. It's looking good! I found you through the links on Thelma's blog. I can't work in too much mess either. I don't have a lot of room to begin with. I do try and clean for just 5 minutes every time I use my sewing room (try being the operative word).

  5. I cleaned my sewing room on Saturday when we had real estate agents bringing folks through the house. Now Ican't find anything! But I did reorganize my peg board and now my rulers are hanging all beautifully organized! Great work on your Eventide blocks1

  6. It looks beautiful!
And oh my gosh... isn't it astonishing how "liberating" a good clean-up can be? I don't pretend to be perfectly organized with everything put away but when it gets really cluttered, it does start to get in the way of getting anything done. Go figure.
    Good job with Eventide!
