Pinochle

DSCN0283
Sorry for the delay in revealing my finished Pinochle quilt.   We attended a family wedding this weekend and it took a lot of my time and most of my mental faculties getting the family ready.   Now that we're back (the wedding was beautiful!), I can take care of some things that have been sitting idle for a while (like my blog!).

Pinochle was designed by Monique Dillard of Open Gate Quilts and is in her book Fat Quarter Winners.  I used a mix of French General fabrics - Rural Jardin, Rouenneries, Maison de Noel and Maison de Garance, with the bird print from Rural Jardin as the border.

This quilt was a lot of fun to make (I happen to love half square triangles!) and I'm very happy with the results.

  5. Lisa!!! Gosh friend you should be happy and proud with the results. What a sensational quilt. I love the way you used the variety of fabrics here. You have just the exact right balance of blue-gray in here as well (not sure if that's the right name for that color but it looks like it to me). Anyway, I have to say this is a favorite now. Besides the orange quilt. You know. I have to keep that one fresh in my mind. Because, well, it's a favorite. ;)

  8. Hi! I was one of the students in St. Charles last fall when we took the classes by Carrie Nelson! I finished the tops for both the Dacry and the Ashcombe - not quilted or bound - just the tops done! In August our Guild is hosting Monique Dillard! Maybe you and Thelma should come back! We'd love to have you!
