Look at those miters!

Orange1_1
Well, I'm very pleased with the way the borders turned out on this quilt. I think the pink inner border could have been a bit narrrower, but I'm certainly not going to make any changes at this point. This quilt will hang in my 2 story entryway when I have it completed. It's wild, isn't it?

And a close-up look.

Edited to add:  I forgot to credit the pattern designer for this quilt!  The pattern is Zuzu's Petals, designed by Carrie Nelson of Miss Rosie's Quilt Co.

Also - the instructions I wound up using for the mitering were from this site.  I used the first technique.

  2. Well done! Did you sew the two borders together and then mitre them or did you sew them on separately? I love the colors you have chosen. Beautiful quilt.

  6. I love that quilt! The pattern is great and I am drooling over the fabrics (especially the colors!) and your mitered borders look terrific!! I have never done a mitered border, maybe one day....LOL...I can't wait to see how you decide to quilt it!

  7. I made this pattern too! Miss Rosie patterns are my favorite. I think you and I must have simillar taste! I used all purple, sage green and black fabrics that have kind of a reproduction look. My quilt looks completely different from yours--How wonderful yours is in the bright sunny colors.

  8. Love the colours - you know I'm not into orange at all normally, but I love your quilt, and an orange one I saw on the Calico Cat's blog recently really appealed to me. Maybe orange is in my future?
