I had a busy weekend between my DD's 7th birthday party and doing my Girl Scout mom cookie duties, but I was able to get the borders on my Rhubarb & Ginger Anniversary Stars quilt. I had some reservations about the purple border fabric but now that it's on, I love it. I really do! I think the striped inner border looks great too.
I got my pink baby quilt back from my quilter, but sadly, she won't have my orange one done until the end of March. Our guild's quilt show is coming up mid-March and she has quilts of her own as well as customer quilts to finish for the show. That's fine, I didn't have a deadline. I am just anxious to see how she quilts it. The baby quilt, she asked me if she could experiment with a different border pattern. She did an all-over pattern in the middle and a feather around the border. I really like it and she didn't charge me extra because she wanted to play with turning a corner and I was happy to be her guinea pig.
Well, off to sew binding on the baby quilt! I can't decide what to start next!
Very pretty! The border fabrics worked just fine!
ReplyDeleteOh! That babyquilt is gorgeous! Love the way the stars cross over in both the light and the dark stripes:o)
ReplyDeleteGASP! Lisa, it is awesome! The choice of the purple border fabric was positively inspired. I love that quilt. If it ever goes missing, I will be your primary suspect. No, I guess I should probably just make my own....
ReplyDeleteReally great quilt. I've been making a lot of baby quilts lately.
ReplyDeleteHow much fun to let a quilter experiment on your quilt!!
