Argh - Valentine's Day!

I spent the better part of 2 hours after dinner last night assembling almost 75 Valentines for my kids to take to their parties on Wednesday.  They wrote in all the names, but needed help punching out little bits of cardboard and putting them together to form cupids' arrows and crabby patty boxes.  I lost 2 hours I could have been quilting!

I did sew all my rows for Anniversary Stars, but now need to sew the rows together.  Hopefully that can be my goal for the week.  It's getting there!

I am kicking myself for missing out on a beautiful white Singer Featherweight machine on Craigslist.  I'm always checking for machines, but rarely think about it on the weekend.  This one was pristine and the case and everything else was too - they were asking only $300!!  I didn't see the ad until 3 hours after they posted, and I was #2 to contact them.  Curses, foiled again!   :(

  1. Yes, we did valentine's this weekend too. Next year I'm not getting the kids with tatoos. What a pain to put this in the tiny slots on the cards.
    Bummer about the featherweight. =(

  2. Sigh. I have that ahead of me tonight, after my quilt group meeting. Littlest pet shop and spiderman await...

  4. Treasure that time. My kids could care less about these activities now and I wish they still did!

  5. I had to help with valentines too - the tiny slots for tattoos.. ugh. I did, however, buy valentines pencils and erasers (one for each classmate) and stuff them in an envelope, sealed them, and stapled the valentine to them. It took about 20 minutes of stuffing - 5 hours of begging my son to write the names on the valentines.

  6. I wimped out. I left my DH alone with the boys while they filled them out and put the pencils, tattoos, and bags of M&Ms into envelopes. They didn't need his help, just an adult keeping them on track. I think it ended up taking close to an hour. I don't think they bothered sticking the tattoos in the slots, though....
