Now that I have 1/4 of the interior portion of Pinny 'n Pa finished, I like it very much. This photo doesn't show true colors, which are much more subtle - most of the pinks and browns are reproduction prints. But, I like the pattern that is emerging and I've found a way to get a little production line going and speed the piecing a little bit. I'm not sure yet what I will do with the pieced borders, as I don't like the way the pattern is written and will need to modify mine. I'm sorry, but I do not just cut off a half-square triangle any which way just to make the border fit!
VERY pretty. Really very nice. Had a wonderful week-end in Anacortes and their two (!) quilt stores had terrific pink and brown and green and brown displays. I showed great fortitude in not buying yards and yards.
ReplyDeleteI am still working on my pink and brown Pinny N Pa and had to put it away as I was getting so frustrated with the way the pattern was written. I started mine as a group and I knew the pattern had lots of issues when the women leading us spent the first 45 minutes going through all the adjustments she had to make to make it work with the minimum of waste.
ReplyDeleteWhat an intricate looking block! Good gravy, there must be a ton of trimming going on. The colors are just stunning together.
ReplyDeletethe pattern is looking wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying this pattern, what fabric line are you quilting with? Looks very reproduction.
ReplyDeleteYour colors have me thinking of strawberries and chocolate. You're making great progress it looks like. Aren't you glad you plowed ahead. I like it too.
