Snowbound!

IMG00004 This picture shows the house across the street - that's a lot of snow!  I've now been stuck at home for a week.  We usually do not get this much snow in the Seattle area, but boy we have been blasted this year.  We have about 15 inches and more is coming later today.  I don't remember the last time we had a white Christmas.  It's pretty to look at, but not so much fun if you have *anywhere* you need to be.  Lucky for me, I can work from home, I have all my Christmas shopping, wrapping and food shopping finished, and I have plenty of sewing projects to keep me busy without having to leave the house.

We may not make it to my brother's in Marysville for our Christmas Eve festivities.   I am hosting Christmas dinner again this year for 13 and hopefully everyone will be able to make it.  If not, we will have a LOT of food.

Bom I used my "free time" to make my Simply Sophisticated blocks for this month.  I'm still a month behind, but at least this gets me in the December drawing!   I love the 9-patch blocks!

  1. Check out how much you have accomplished in the last week. Being snowbound may not be fun, but it looks like you have made the best of a sucky situation. ;-) Hope everyone can make it to your house on Christmas and that you get out of the house before the end of the weekend. *hugs*

  2. This was fun at first, Lisa, now I'm waiting for Al Gore and global warming to show up! The freeway isn't too bad right now - but they say we're getting more tonight and tomorrow! I sure hope you can make it to Marysville! The only good thing I have to say about this is it makes for more quilting time!
    Cheers!

  3. I am with you on the beauty yet kind of a pain thinking about this snow. We did put chains on the car so we could get to the store but it really makes you consider what is important. Be safe if you travel in the next few days and pray for rain!

  5. Wow! Look at that snow! Our daughter has to fly back to Portland on Saturday morning. She's afraid the airport will still be closed. Stay warm, Lisa. Hope you and your family have a great Christmas.

  7. Did everyone make it to your Christmas dinner? Our holiday was splendid, and I still have sleepy kids and dogs everywhere as I write this!

  8. I've been seeing your snow reports on the national news. We in NH have also had a bumper crop of snow and ice. After a devastating ice storm we had four days of snow where we got 2 feet of snow. There's a lot of snow out there! Sure made for a pretty Chritmas.
