Progress all around

Round2 I'm making great strides with my Prairie Paisley quilt.  It looks rather wild with that feather print border, but the last pieced border will really help tone things down, I think.

Oldgap There's also been a lot of progress where my daughter's teeth are concerned.  Here's a picture of her last August when she first got her braces on - see that big gap between her front teeth?    It was something she wanted gone.   Well, as the second picture shows, we're almost there - the gap is very small now!   Of course, now the silly girl says "I miss my gap"   You can't win, but I think she's adorable, gap or no gap.

  1. I love the Prairie Paisley fabric you are working with. I bought some charm packs to make a project and it is still in my "to do " pile. Your daughter is precious with or w/o the gap. We went through the braces with two of my children. Long process and they still have to wear the retainers at night to keep the teeth in place ;-)

  2. The quilt looks great! I love both of Lil's pictures, but the second one sure shows a ton of progress. Bye little gap. =)

  4. You were so careful in the way you placed that feather border. When I saw the picture in the magazine I thought it would be a challenge to get it just right, but you did! How quickly this quilt is coming together! Are you going to add one last border of a print fabric, just to make things bigger? I think I have enough of the large navy floral to do that with mine.

  6. Between you and Nicole, I am getting very envious of your Prairie Paisleys! One of these days I'll have time to work on mine!
Miss Lilly is really looking good - braces have come a long way since I was young!
    Cheers!

  8. Oh my GOODness! Your daughter is a doll. I love her braces! I had to call my little girl into the room to show her your daughter. She is going to be traveling the braces road very soon, and it was nice for her to see someone wearing braces and a big smile that is about her same age. She loves the green! Your quilt is looking gorgeous! xo

  9. With a face like that, who would notice the gap!? She could have been the next Lauren Hutton ~ famous for her gap! Now she'll just be famous for being gorgeous.
And smart girl, posting the picture of the quilt first. After seeing that pretty face... who's going to notice the almost-as-pretty quilt?

  10. I barely noticed her gap! She reminds me of my daughter two years ago in Chattanooga when she still has her gap. She didn't like 'em too, so we asked our periodontist if she's ready to get braces. How's her teeth now?
