Where ya been?

IMG_0001_NEW Yes, I'm a sorry excuse for a blogger - it's been 2 weeks since my last post!   I finished the Civil War Homefront quilt that appeared in my last, long-ago blog post.   But I neglected to take a photo of it before dropping it off at the quilt shop.   I most definitely get an "F" for blogging this semester.

I got 2 fabulous quilts back from the quilter last week, but our beautiful Seattle weather has turned to rain, so I will have to wait for a nicer day to get photos.

How about I share something that made me laugh?   I was pressing some 4-patches and this one ended up on my ironing board.  Yes, even seasoned quilters working on a basic pattern can have a "duh, what was I thinking?" moment.  To be honest, I have them all the time!!

I hope to have more interesting and fun things to share with you soon.   Stay tuned for my blogiversary coming up near the end of March.  There will be a giveaway!

  1. Forgive me Typepad for I have sinned. It's been two weeks since my last post...
You're forgiven. Just post and say three "Hail Bloggers", and try not to do it again. :)
And if it helps, I do that sort of thing with four-patches all the time. They're very cute, btw. I look forward to the pictures... we're having rain too so I understand about that lighting thing. Be good and keep your powder dry!

  3. I think we all have those moments. I am so mitten with Kona that the other day when I was sewing two non-Kona prints together, I forgot about right sides facing...

  4. Funny comment from Amy, she's right, at least you got the right sides facing out....that's pretty fabric all the same!

  7. Well first of all you are totally busted. No way are you getting off without any abuse for this one. Second of all, I'm not going to be around for the darn giveaway so what kind of fun is that? It's not. Not fair either. I'm totally getting ripped off. First no theft. Then no photos. Now NO CHANCE TO WIN.
Oh wait. A photo of your slopping sewing screw up? That's my treat? Great. I'm so feeling loved now. I'm soooo glad I encouraged you to start quilting all those years ago. I'm so happy I have contributed to your quilting in a million ways over all these years. Who was it that taught you about the whole importance of a 1/4"? Right. Me. Exactly. Now you kick me to the curb like I wasn't around for anything and I don't count. Which, come to think of it, I wasn't around and I don't do math - so really, technically, I don't count either.
Still, I'm getting shafted by the stashmaster!
