My happy place

Quiltie_2I look forward to Thursdays, when I get to go to work at my happy place.   Last night I got to bring in the finished Love Notes quilt that I made as a shop sample.  Here is a goofy picture of me holding the quilt up.  I'd rather have a picture WITHOUT me in it, but the quilt probably won't get hung until today and I know some of my bloggy friends wanted to see the quilt.

The gals at the shop just loved it.  I used Michael Miller's Snuggle Up fabric on the back which is a plush, Minkee-like fabric that is soft as butta....  Yum.   And my quilter used a super cute heart pantograph and did a speedy quick turnaround so I could get it up in time for Valentine's Day.  My DD was sad to see her "Quiltie" leave the house, but I promised it would be back very soon for her to cuddle with.

I'm happy to be done with the shop sample, so now I can turn my focus to finishing the challenge quilt to meet our deadline next week.  From there, the project possibilities are endless!   I have 3 more shop samples that I feel like I must start soon, but the pull of a new project of my own is really strong.  Oh and also the desire to finish my Opening Day quilt.  What to do?  What to do?

  1. What a lovely quilt, Lisa! And look at your cute little face peeking over the top! I want to make one of those quilts now - it's adorable!
It's definitely time for a NEW project! Something to warm your quilty heart, and then you can sew another store sample. How about that?

  2. Really a very sweet quilt. Question about the Michael Miller fabric...so it quilts up ok without puckers? I understand that is not the case with Minkee so I am really curious as I would love to make something soft and snuggly for my grandson.

  3. I adore how that turned out! My favorite thing is the stripey binding! With the backing you chose, it will be the perfect cuddly lap quilt.

  4. Look at that sweet face peeking out from the top of that quilt. It turned out wonderful and you did a marvelous job. I too like that striped binding. Let me know what you start on next.

  7. I know what you mean about too many choices and not enough time for all the projects! I have three or four (ok, more like 8 or 10) shop sample things I need to get out of the way, two swaps, and then there are all the ideas I have for things I want to do. Oh, and can't forget the knitting. UGH! I need another me!!! I'd say go with the one that has the closest deadline, followed by the oldest piece waiting for a finish, followed by... Whatever you decide -- that shop sample is beautiful (love the binding) and enjoy what you choose!
