I've collected many of the Schnibbles patterns, but have never attempted to make one. The Year of Schnibbles club hosted by Sherri and Sinta encouraged me to take the plunge, and I am really happy with the result. I made their September pattern selection - Winter White - using 2 Spooktacular charm packs. I wasn't so sure I liked these bright colors while I was making it, but I do really like the way it turned out and now I finally have a little Halloween quilt!
I want to thank all of you for your supportive comments following my accident. I'm slowing improving and hope things continue to get better with each passing day. Now I'm dealing with insurance companies (hers and mine) and that's a whole 'nother kind of pain....
Now that turned out just fine! Love the colors and the border fabric you chose is perfect. I will get mine done this week, and you will be amazed at how different it will look with the fabrics I pulled together. That is what is so much fun about these clubs--you get so many ideas of how to use fabrics!
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! I love a halloween quilt. Mom has been telling all about your project and it's great to see it on your blog! Halloween quilts can be a little garish sometimes, and the colors can seem too much, but this pattern is adorable and works well.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt!!! I'm using this line on next month's Schnibbles! We are going to have one terrific quilt parade on October 1st!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I think the Halloween fabrics turned out great! So fun to see it look so different from the pattern cover!
ReplyDeleteHow fun, Lisa! It's adorable!! I can see that hanging in your window on Halloween! Glad you're on the mend - no fun with the insurance companies, though!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
I love it...cute as can be! Glad you're feeling better...those darn insurance companies sure don't make life easy on you.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! You nailed the contrast element of this pattern....that's where I struggled! Aren't you glad you stuck with it! It's adorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you're improving each day!!
I really like your version. So different from the pattern. I just got my pattern today and can't wait to try it this weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour Halloween quilt looks great! I was wondering how it would look in Halloween fabric.
ReplyDeleteOh now, that is cute! I was wondering if anyone would be using Halloween fabric for their Schnibbles, being that time of year. Yours is great and I hope you enjoy it this Halloween.
ReplyDeleteLove your Schnibbles quilt and glad you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI love your Schnibbles! Cute take on the fabric choice! Mine is waiting for the backing to get here so I can get my mom to put on the longarm. I guess I could do it on my machine, but I'm to intimidated by machine quilting. Maybe one day...
ReplyDeleteOh Lisa, this came out so fantastic. I absolutely love the charm packs you used. This really makes it cool!
ReplyDeleteDarn those insurance companies. Dagnabit!!!
I love it! It's wonderful! (And what do you mean that you haven't actually made one yet?) I think I might need to find a couple of those charm packs! (Of course, with the current condition of the house and my sewing room, I might already have a few and not know it... eek!)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling "better" and I will keep a good thought about your current battle. Thank goodness you had your wits about you and insisted on calling the police! That police report should help though I'm sure her insurance company is still going to find some way of putting at least some of the blame on you. Feel better soon!
How fun! I love it! How are you feeling after the accident? Hope that you are doing okay. Good luck with the insurance companies, what a nightmare that can be. Been there, done that!
ReplyDeleteWow, yours is just terrific.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out wonderfully. I've bee trying to get up the nerve to do a Halloween quilt. The next Schnibbles pattern may be it. Yours looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I love yours! Wanna trade? LOL! You did a great job, the Halloween fabric really makes it pop. Good choice :D
ReplyDeleteLove your Schnibbles, I should have done a Halloween one! waah!!! Sorry to hear about your accident. I fell while exercising, flat on my face on the sidewalk, last Decemember so I can only imagine how bad your accident was! A truck!!! Yes, I agree, if that wasn't reckless driving, what is????
ReplyDeleteYours is my favorite!! Sorry about your accident. Thanks, too, for entering my giveaway.
