My first Schnibbles

Spook I've collected many of the Schnibbles patterns, but have never attempted to make one.   The Year of Schnibbles club hosted by Sherri and Sinta encouraged me to take the plunge, and I am really happy with the result.   I made their September pattern selection - Winter White - using 2 Spooktacular charm packs.  I wasn't so sure I liked these bright colors while I was making it, but I do really like the way it turned out and now I finally have a little Halloween quilt!

I want to thank all of you for your supportive comments following my accident.  I'm slowing improving and hope things continue to get better with each passing day.  Now I'm dealing with insurance companies (hers and mine) and that's a whole 'nother kind of pain....

  1. Now that turned out just fine! Love the colors and the border fabric you chose is perfect. I will get mine done this week, and you will be amazed at how different it will look with the fabrics I pulled together. That is what is so much fun about these clubs--you get so many ideas of how to use fabrics!

  2. Hi Lisa! I love a halloween quilt. Mom has been telling all about your project and it's great to see it on your blog! Halloween quilts can be a little garish sometimes, and the colors can seem too much, but this pattern is adorable and works well.

  10. Oh now, that is cute! I was wondering if anyone would be using Halloween fabric for their Schnibbles, being that time of year. Yours is great and I hope you enjoy it this Halloween.

  12. I love your Schnibbles! Cute take on the fabric choice! Mine is waiting for the backing to get here so I can get my mom to put on the longarm. I guess I could do it on my machine, but I'm to intimidated by machine quilting. Maybe one day...

  14. I love it! It's wonderful! (And what do you mean that you haven't actually made one yet?) I think I might need to find a couple of those charm packs! (Of course, with the current condition of the house and my sewing room, I might already have a few and not know it... eek!)
Glad you're feeling "better" and I will keep a good thought about your current battle. Thank goodness you had your wits about you and insisted on calling the police! That police report should help though I'm sure her insurance company is still going to find some way of putting at least some of the blame on you. Feel better soon!

  18. Love your Schnibbles, I should have done a Halloween one! waah!!! Sorry to hear about your accident. I fell while exercising, flat on my face on the sidewalk, last Decemember so I can only imagine how bad your accident was! A truck!!! Yes, I agree, if that wasn't reckless driving, what is????
